By The Light Of The Moon Cabaret!
On August 20, 2016, three Coeur d’Alene High School alumni, will be reunited in song to perform for the community! Aaron Baldwin (2009), Jessi Little (2009), and Madison Leonard (2010) will be delighting the audience in By The Light Of The Moon Cabaret! Accompanied by pianist Beth Taylor, the Cabaret is filled with story-telling songs, both witty and touching, interlaced with entertaining anecdotes.
Aaron, Jessi and Madison thrived as they resided in Hayden and Hayden Lake and performed together throughout high school. Some of their performances of that time include the shows Grease, Guys and Dolls, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Taking their talent to the next level, pursuing performing art degrees in college, Jessi graduated from TCU with a Musical Theatre Degree and Madison completed her undergraduate study at Pepperdine University, recently graduating with her Master’s of Music Degree from Northwestern’s Bienen School of Music. Aaron is employed in Boise, Idaho and continues to enjoy performing as time allows.
Madison resides in Chicago and performs around the nation. She looks forward to singing Rosina/Il barbiere di Siviglia with Opera Coeur d’Alene this fall and “Die Fledermaus” with Opera Idaho in November.
Jessi resides in Seattle and has acted professionally both in Dallas and the Emerald City. You may remember her as Wednesday Addams in Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre’s The Addams family two years ago. Futher perfromances include Seattle’s STAGEright’s “Toxic Avenger” and The Village Theatre ‘s “A Proper Place”.
Aaron was recently in the production Young Frankenstein in Boise and will be performing in a variety of concerts and cabarets in the Treasure Valley in the upcoming year.
While developing the Cabaret, Madison shared a memory. One moment I will never forget is from "Guys and Dolls" when Jessi and I were singing the two female leads and got to do a fun duet near the end of the show. At one moment in the song, I quickly swung around with a piece of luggage and whacked her straight in the face, and we proceeded to finish the song looking right in each others' eyes, doing everything in our power not to burst into laughter. Hopefully she's forgotten that moment, or she might seek revenge during this next performance together!”
As the news of this reunion Cabaret performance was shared with their former teachers, drama teacher Pat Caloca Day stated, “I am so thrilled to be able to see all these outstanding young performers meet up again on the stage to share their amazing talents with our community. Each of them excel in different aspects of performance and yet together they are a mighty performing force. I am extremely proud of them and so happy I was able to work with them in their early beginnings of theatre at Coeur d’Alene High School”
